Dinner – 6.30pm onwards

Day 1: Wednesday 5th August

National Fencing Field Day (NFFD) – Riwaka Hotel: 627 Main Road, Riwaka

Kick off Conference26 at the 6th annual National Fencing Field Day. This year, the NFFD is being held at the grounds of the historic Riwaka Hotel. Now also a general store, bar, restaurant and beer garden, the Riwaka Hotel has been standing strong in the heart of horticultural country as the cornerstone of the Riwaka community for over 160 years.

See the latest fencing gear, watch best practice demos, talk with industry suppliers and challenge fellow fencing contractors to win great prizes in the FCANZ Games.

For the long-suffering partners who aren’t keen on spending the day in the field with their other half, we’ll once again be running the popular Ladies Who Lunch outing. Your FCANZ “hostess with the mostest” will take you on a fabulous day filled with delicious food, interesting activities, and wonderful company. Book early, though, as spaces are limited!

Travel to and from the NFFD and entry into the event are complimentary as part of your Conference ticket.

Mix & Mingle Dinner – Riwaka Hotel: 627 Main Road, Riwaka

Always a crowd favourite, our Mix & Mingle dinner is being held this year at the historic Riwaka Hotel – so there’s no need to travel after the NFFD! Come along, enjoy a casual catch-up with old aquaintances, and meet new people.

NB: Food and drinks at the Mix & Mingle Dinner are not included in your Conference package.

Day 2: Thursday 6th August

Conference26 & AGM – the Tides Hotel

Thursday provides members with an update on what the Board has achieved in the previous 12 months and what is on the plan for the next 12 months. This is followed by the AGM, during which the Board will be decided, and any Association rule changes will be voted upon. There are four positions up for renewal this year and we have an additional vacancy to fill to take us up to our full quota of nine Board members. If you have been considering being involved in the direction of the Association, then now is your chance. While the incumbents may look to stand again, this doesn’t stop others from standing. If there are more nominations than positions, it will go to a confidential vote, with the results notified later in the day. Nomination forms and role descriptions will be available on our website in April.

Following the AGM we’ll draw some of the $9000+ worth of prizes, before hearing from our keynote speakers. Details of the
speakers for this year’s Conference are currently being finalised, with the full lineup to be announced soon. Note: you have to be there to claim your prizes!

Thursday Night Dinner

We’re working on something different for dinner on Thursday night, and we don’t quite have everything squared away yet so we’re keeping tight-lipped on it for now. It is safe to say it will definitely include great food and will be an absolute blast. Keep an eye on your emails and our social spaces for more info!

Day 3: Friday 7th August

Activities Day

We love planning the activities day for our delegates – and this year is no exception! This year we’re doing a guided 4WD trip, exploring some of the special areas around the Nelson-Tasman area. We’ll contact all delegates closer to the time to find out who is bringing a ute, and is happy to drive, and who needs to go with someone else. There’ll be no-one left behind – and it will be a brilliant day out!

Gala Dinner & FCANZ Awards

Our annual industry awards and gala dinner is on Friday night again this year. Once we’re back from our activities day, you’ll have the chance to change into your glad rags and meet us for a well-earned beverage before enjoying our semi-formal dinner and awards ceremony. There will be prizes for the best dressed, so make sure you put in a good effort.
