Day 0: Tuesday 6th August
If you arrive early, you are more than welcome to join us for a casual dinner starting at 6.30pm at Su Ra Teppanyaki (in the complex behind the hotel). Make sure to let us know when you register that you are coming so we can book enough seats. NB: this dinner is not included in your Conference package.
Day 1: Wednesday 7th August
National Fencing Field Day (NFFD)
Wednesday will see the return of the National Fencing Field Day, held at the Rangiora A&P Showgrounds from 10am – 3pm. This event will be open to the public and will showcase the best products, services and equipment available to the fencing and farming communities, including tools, machinery, vehicles, clothing and personal protection equipment. The day’s programme will include competitions and product demonstrations.
We’ll also be running another “Ladies Who Lunch” event for the long-suffering partners who aren’t so keen on spending the day in the field.
This year, we’ve got a venue with some wet-weather contingencies, as no one wants a repeat of last year’s icicle fest! Travel to and from the NFFD and entry into the event are complimentary as part of your Conference ticket.
Mix & Mingle Dinner
Join us for the ever-popular Mix & Mingle dinner for a chance for a casual catch-up with acquaintances old and new. This self-pay event will be held at Lone Star Spitfire – a mere 5-minute walk from the hotel. NB: this dinner is not included in your Conference package.
Day 2: Thursday 8th August
Conference & AGM
A bright and early start to Conference 2024, kicking off at 8.30 am, with the Board update and Annual General Meeting before we delve into the Conference programme for the day.
The day will include the Member Feedback Forum where you get to share your thoughts about the industry, the Association and our Partners. It’s a great opportunity to ask those burning questions and make some great suggestions.
Attendees will also hear from some fantastic speakers and be able to become involved in a couple of interactive panel sessions – all in the name of ‘Outside the Box’ thinking.
Gala Dinner & Industry Awards
Join us as we celebrate and acknowledge those who make a significant contribution to our industry. This will be held in the Conference Rooms in the Sudima Christchurch Airport, once it’s been dressed for the occasion. The dresscode is semi-formal so make sure you bring your glad-rags!
Note: we are aware that due to the state of the economy, times are tight for many, so there won’t be an impromptu auction this year.
Day 3: Friday 9th August
Partner Site Visits
The morning will be spent visiting our partner sites, to see how things are run behind the scenes, after which we will head in to the centre of town for lunch.
After lunch, you can choose whether to stay in town and explore, or head back to the Sudima to relax before the evening entertainment.
Dinner at the Races
This year, we are heading to Addington Race Course for our final dinner. Here, you’ll enjoy happy hour followed by a mid-winter-Christmas themed dinner – all while enjoying the excitement of the races. When racing has wrapped up for the evening the band will begin so you can celebrate Conference 2024 in style!
